At Razorback CrossFit and CrossFit Foxcroft, we are given the privilege of coaching an amazing group of athletes. We find pride in being alongside an athlete to coach and encourage them from the time they join CrossFit to each accomplishment they achieve, whether it be in the gym or not. We strive to deliver a program that provides a route for our athletes to succeed and it shows when an athlete puts in 110% every training session to ensure they are hitting their goals.
Our October Member Spotlight is Mike Loy. Mike started CrossFit about 2 1/2 months ago. He started because it has well-rounded health benefits compared to walking, golfing, and biking. Also because Ben and Steven will not let you drink beer during class.
Do you remember what your first CrossFit workout was?
"I don't remember the exact workout, but it did remind me of first “Two-a-days” in HS football. Somehow I made it through! The positive spirit of everyone made it easier!"
What do you like most about CrossFit?
"Despite being at back of pack during WOD, it refreshes you mentally."
What is your favorite exercise or workout?
"Hmmm? Front Squat is not one of them! Calorie Rowing."
What changes have you noticed since you’ve started CrossFit?
"Have more energy and mental focus."
What goals have you accomplished and what are your next goals you are working towards?
"Trying to coordinate an uncoordinated body to do the lifts (squats) properly."
How has CrossFit helped you in your everyday life?
"I've spent 30 years on my feet for 10+ hours a day, over the past 2 years, I have been office bound. CrossFit has been a wonderful Ying/Yang of Physical/Mental."
What advice would you give to someone new to CrossFit, or someone who is thinking about joining?
"Bring a towel, cup of water, and push a little harder each day!"
