Our athletes at CrossFit Foxcroft and Razorback CrossFit commit to accomplishing goals that they set and making healthy lifestyle choices everyday. Their determination and hard work is displayed as they become healthier, stronger, quicker, and improve their overall fitness. This incredible group of athletes in our community is devoted to helping each other and themselves become better each day. As coaches, we feel extremely privileged to have the opportunity to work with so many like-minded, hardworking athletes to achieve their goals.
For the February installment of our Member Spotlight, we introduce Carrie Crownover. Carrie tried CrossFit about a year and half ago when a friend talked her into trying it. Once she started, she loved it!
What do you like most about CrossFit?
"I have enjoyed working with the coaches at Foxcroft. They emphasize having good form on all our movements, especially with weightlifting, and they know when and how much topush you. I also enjoy the positive environment and the people who workout with me."
What is your favorite exercise?
"I was very hesitant to try CrossFit because of all the weightlifting and hearing various opinions about CrossFit. My experience has been wonderful!"
What changes have you noticed since you’ve started CrossFit?
"My strength has increased since starting CrossFit, and I've noticed a difference in how my clothes fit. I haven't lost a lot of weight, but I have toned up. On the days I workout, I'm more alert, have higher energy, and my mood is better."
What goals have you accomplished and what are your next goals you are working towards?
"Currently, I'm working on my double unders, pull-ups, and handstands."
How has CrossFit helped you in your everyday life (work, family, etc.)?
"It has given me the confidence to do other things, such as trying my first sprint triathlon in June."
What advice would you give to someone new to CrossFit, or someone who is thinking about joining?
"CrossFit is really for everyone, those who are in phenomenal shape and those who are just getting started with exercising. It's a great place to workout with wonderful people and coaches. Also, I'd like to give a shout out to my coaches--Mike, Joey, Robert, and Steven. They do a great job!"
