We are so proud of all of our athletes and the commitment to their goals and their health every day at Foxcroft and Razorback CrossFit. They display determination and hard work and in turn, our athletes are becoming healthier, stronger, quicker, and developing their overall fitness.  This incredible group of athletes in our growing community is devoted to helping each other and themselves become better every day.  As coaches, we feel extremely privileged to have the opportunity to work with so many like-minded, hardworking athletes to achieve their goals.

For our August installment of our Member Spotlight, we introduce Robert Ulrey. Robert joined CrossFit Foxcroft in August of 2013; Brad Eichler suckered him into it. He needed a new challenge and it worked great with the early morning class time!

Do you remember what was your first CrossFit workout was?

It’s a blur.  Might have involved box jumps.

What do you like most about CrossFit?

Endorphins!  Also, the new friendships and acquaintances.

What is your favorite exercise or workout?

I enjoy most of the workouts-including back squats and box jumps; probably because I’m better at those than some others.

What changes have you noticed since you’ve started?

I just feel stronger generally and have more confidence in challenging physical activities.

What goals have you accomplished and what are your next goals you are

working towards?

My pull-ups and double unders are at least semi-respectable versus almost non-existent.  I want to get handstand push-ups down by the end of the year.

How has CrossFit helped you in your everyday life?

I feel like I’m accomplishing something physical and it’s a great stress reliever.  Also, just trying to stay stronger than my (5 and 7 year old) kids!!!

What advice would you give to someone new to CrossFit, or someone who is

thinking about joining?

Give it a try (and then stick with it). Pace yourself.  It’s fun to learn new exercises/lifts.  We have a truly great group of instructors and cohorts.
